How to Develop a Unique Brand Identity

Developing an identity for your brand does not end with creating a logo, which is just a symbol for your property management agency. Instead, a brand identity involves your business values, what you’re saying and how you communicate it, and how you want people to interact with your brand. Essentially, you’re answering the question: what is your personality and what is your promise to your customers?

Research

There are three factors you’ll need to research: your audience, your competition and your mission. Learning what your audience wants from a business in your industry is vital to creating a brand people will love. Also consider your value proposition with regards to your competitors. What can you offer your consumers that others can't? Lastly, be sure to have a clear and direct mission statement that describes your vision and goals.

Design your look

Once you’ve figured out who you are and what you are planning to offer, it’s time to bring your brand to life. As the most recognisable part of your brand, it’s vital to put thought into your logo, including the form, colours and type you will use. Aside from your logo, you also want to design templates, such as email signatures, letters and business cards.

Social media integration

Once you've established your brand within your company, you can integrate your brand within your community, particularly online. What you create as online content will essentially be your brand online. Your content will serve as your story and define your brand.

Monitor your progress

Use Google Analytics, surveys, comments and other forms of feedback to monitor your brand and get a sense of how people talk about and interact with you. This will give you the opportunity to implement changes to your brand as needed so you can fully optimise your branding to create trust.
